Basler Läckerli. Gingerbread has been baked in Basel since the Middle Ages. This gradually developed into the Basler Läckerli, the popular Basel speciality. Since the 17th century, the Basler Läckerli has been popular for its sugar icing. For our original Basler Läckerli – produced according to a top secret recipe – we use only the best ingredients: Bee honey, almonds and hazelnuts, candied orange peel and lemon peel, as well as the finest spices and Baselbieter cherry.
